Some parts of the world have soaring mountains. Other parts are desert with the moving sand dunes. Then there are the flat to gently rolling areas. Rugged, hilly, marshy and the list goes on to describe the beautiful diversity of this blue earth. Lakes, rivers, oceans add to the beauty. From the earliest of times humans attempted to modify the shape and texture with all sorts of implements. Stones to dynamite to giant earth movers lay hills and mountains low. Other times, humans join countries with tunnels and bridges. Marshes become shopping malls. Imagination can be the best modifier.

ReplyDeleteA story of time, well done. I have a penchant for this place as it was the homeland of a special lady I met when my father died...she became my friend for a few years when I lived in Toronto and would visit her every Wednesday after volunteering at Bereaved Families. I starting writing a journal about her called Wednesdays with Anna...I must try to finish that some day.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a connection with this country. I look forward to Wednesdays with Anna. That was my grandmother's name, Anna Mae. She died when Dad was four.
DeleteAnna was my ex's grandmother and my daughter is Annie-Claude:)
DeleteInteresting how names follow family lines!
