in honor

Carpe Diem honors Jane Reichhold (1937-2016) A.) already red

Today, January 18th, is Jane's birthday.  The host of CDHK honors her with a few of her wonderful winter haiku:

 swollen
the amaryllis bud
already red

melted snow water
trickling over the veins
of a dried beech leaf

moving around
the wind in the pines
comes home

To be a writer of honest haiku it seems a person needs to be one with nature.  To feel the cold waters of the melting snow.  To be the dried beech leaf lying on the forest floor.  To be the wind searching for home.

swelling from within
as the bud grows at stems end
new life unfolds
