Carpe Diem #1057 creek
Growing up on a farm has its own kind of special memories: star filled skies, mud pies, rotten eggs being dropped from the barn loft and ...
evening sounds
cows saunter single file
by the creek

ReplyDeleteBeing a country lass, I was taken to my own memories with this one! YAM xx

DeleteIt really does have its own special memories.
Very nice imagery there. Simple but effective. 'Sigh' - I agree with Celestine, and notice the parcity of fellow cdhkians at your blog. Such a shame a few are like this.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hamish. I am not seeing Celestine's comment. I have not been good about visiting blogs recently so I am guilty, also.

ReplyDeleteI hear and see this so vividly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can still see that worn path as I would walk it when I played along the creek.
DeleteBrings back memories of my childhood; so many farms in the area, watching the cows return home. :)

It is so much fun being slightly dyslexic. I read your comment as the crows coming home..... Homing crows. No wait reread. Now that makes sense! One could almost set the clock by the cows coming home to the barn.
DeleteLovely haiku. Made me think of a time we climbed a hollow tree and the cows came to drink at the creek and we were trapped in the tree.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, the bovine can be challenging at times! I was about 5 when one trapped me in the barn. She was a bossy one, too.
