pleasure

Carpe Diem #1037 pleasure

[...] "There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
there is rapture in the lonely shore,
there is society where none intrudes,
by the deep sea, and music in its roar;
I love not Man the less,
but Nature more."
[...] Lord Byron

bird calling
from the spreading live oak tree
come sing with me

the rock speaks
in a deep, gravelly voice
water bubbles back
rippling harmonious sound
but one of nature's grand tunes

listen
the angle of geese
calling winter

languid clouds
sprinkle the earth
with joy

  4. Such a tender journey...but the sounds and images of the second one are truly stunning...I can read it and read it over and over.

  5. Nature just took me away on such a lovely journey here...I cannot feel bad that summer is leaving...there are so many wonders in each season. Haiku writing helps to be reminded of this.
