Carpe Diem Theme Week #2 Color Your Life -- Orange

Orange:

Orange is a very strong color associated with creative energy. Nature grows through the sun (orange?) and therefore I think we will all have a slight reference towards orange as being the color of creativity. We have to cherish that energy, because we need it to create our haiku, tanka or other Japanese poetry forms.

Orange combines red and yellow. It contains the fiery energy of red with the wisdom and control of yellow. Orange is a dynamic energy like red but more thoughtful and controlled.

Orange brings about: creativity; playfulness; exploration on a practical level; relief from boredom and equilibrium.

  1. Such power and energy in orange as you have described beautifully, Janice. I am pleased you wrote as well about creativity...it is what I felt when I received my birthday bouquet yesterday with a few baby orange roses.

    1. Our first home had one bedroom I did with orange accents. Course burnt orange and avocado green were big in the late 60's and early 70's.

    1. The football(US style)is huge in this area. The University of Texas Longhorns have burnt orange everything. My youngest nephew was in the Longhorn Band during his undergraduate years. Lots of sound and fury..

Dynamic wisdom - sums up orange as per the ochre clothes of the Hindu sadhus.... am guessing the Longhorns are a sports team? If so combining orange with cattle = two of my favourite things, so am disposed to raise my own battle cry! YAM xx

    1. Yes, the Longhorns are the name of the University of Texas sports teams and bands. The photo was taken as the band exited the stadium after a game. My nephew was one of the blurs....
