Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu #73 pi-ku another nice poetry form (reprise)

I cannot begin to explain today's prompt so here it is as copied from Carpe Diem Haiku Kai:


Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Welcome at a new episode of our weekly feature Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu. This week I love to challenge you to write a so called "pi-ku" as a kind of tribute to "Pi-day" which was on March 14. Why is this day called "Pi-day"? Because of the numbers of this date 3.14, which is the value of "Pi".

I remember that we have done this earlier in one of our episodes of "Carpe Diem Little Ones" that special feature about other little poetry  forms like haiku. I will give you an example of a pi-ku.
the sun rises
the heat
already tangible

I sought the Internet for all the digits of Pi and I found the next (short) value: 3,14159 26535 89793 23846 ... and the digits go on and on, everlasting ...

Let us try to make a Pi-ku with the above digits in red (3,14159) the lines of the Pi-ku and the syllables-count would become the following:

1st line 3 syllables; 2nd line 1 syllable; 3rd line 4 syllables; 4th line 1 syllable; 5th line 5 syllables and the6th line would be 9 syllables. To me this sounds great and will be for sure a challenge. So let me try to make my Pi-ku longer with those new lines and their syllables-count:

the sun rises
the heat
already tangible
mist
spirals above the stream
another day starts in mysterious ways

Isn't it a wonderful (extended) pi-ku?

Carpe Diem Writing and Enjoying Haiku #6 new ways T his has been the year when Hubby and I along with a whole bunch of other folks celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary . We actually started the celebration back at the end of June, our actual 'date'.  It continued with a trip to France. Returning home we began working on The Party that was delayed till the grandsons returned from a summer in Canada. Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Wednesday #11 family tombstone Five years ago this very morning my mother died.  I had spent the night with her at the new nursing home we had just moved her to the previous day.  She was not happy.  Due to loss of eyesight in one eye, falling and breaking a wrist in less than 5 weeks she developed delirium.  She was still enough of herself that as we were getting her ready for bed she made one statement.  "I am gonna get up and walk right out of this place by morning."  Around 7 AM I left to get a cup of coffee and stretch my legs.  When I returned her life force was gone.  adding father’s name to the family tombstone with room for my own © Nicholas Virgilio saints gather to greet arrivals she ran to Dad's arms © petra domina

neighborhood of colors

Carpe Diem #1263 neighborhood of colors After living for many decades in locations a little too monochrome in their occupants, I am pleased to be living in an apartment complex populated by a wide spectrum of colors and tones.  What joy to look up while on a walk to see someone who looks nothing like a 70 year old white woman.  To see the young mother in her hijab walking with her children.  To hear the rhythm of a different language floating across the pool.  To see the sun set profiling the gay couple as they embrace.  Yes, I am loving this neighborhood of colors. jewels glisten at sunset ©    petra domina Thanks to Chèvrefeuille for daily prompts on CARPE DIEM HAIKU KAI
